The Snow Princess & The handsome Prince

Untitled Document

For many years the breeders had been searching for a lavender so handsome it was worthy of the coveted title of ‘The Prince’. Many would-be princes came and went, falling short of the expectations of a royal title. Then at last came the handsomest of them all. In regal deep blue-mauve ‘The Prince’ stood out amongst his peers.

Then one fine day while casting their eyes over a sea of pink lavenders in their trial garden, they noticed a white lavender shimmering in the sunshine, a white so pure the flowers looked like fresh snow. The breeders decided to call her ‘The Snow Princess’.

New releases, ‘The Snow Princess’ and ‘The Prince’ are a match made in heaven, with their striking pure white and deep blue-mauve flowers in abundance, they represent a new era in lavender breeding.

The Lavinnova breeding programme has produced a distinguished family of royals, starting with the neon pink flower sensation ‘The Princess Lavender’, the ‘Ghostly Princess’, followed by ‘The Silver Princess’ with a unique combination of icy silver foliage and vivid pink flower bracts, and the outstanding compact form and flowering performance of ‘The Queen’.

The Royal series of lavenders come from careful crossing of Lavender pedunculata hybrids to achieve outstanding form and flower performance. Commonly known as Spanish lavenders, these unrivalled flowering performers are characterised by narrow grey green aromatic leaves and long-stemmed flowers with over-large flower bracts. They have medium to low water requirements and are versatile and easy-care when grown as hedging, in the flower border or in containers. To encourage optimum flowering feed with slow-release fertiliser in late winter and early autumn.
